Absolute Zero is a puzzle platformer for the Amiga where you play as Corben, a courageous explorer, on a quest to save a frozen world.
Absolute Zero is a puzzle platformer where you take on the role of Corben, a brave explorer tasked with saving our frozen world. Corben needs to gather battery packs to activate climate reactors, unleashing the elements and bringing balance back before it’s too late. You must collect battery packs to activate climate reactors and restore balance.
### Gameplay
The core gameplay revolves around collecting battery packs and reaching the climate reactor on each level to complete it. The unique twist is the ability to manipulate ice. You can create or destroy ice blocks above, below, and in front of you. This lets you forge pathways, overcome obstacles, and reach higher platforms.
Enemies roam the levels, and you must either avoid them or, if you’ve collected ammunition, shoot them. Be warned, though – not all enemies can be destroyed. Some levels also feature limited visibility, requiring you to rely on 3D sound to pinpoint enemy locations.
### Controls
The controls are fairly straightforward. Up or Joy Button 2 makes Corben jump, which can also damage ice blocks directly overhead. The Down key creates or destroys ice blocks at your feet, while Left and Right control movement. The Fire button creates or destroys ice blocks in front of you. Holding Fire and then releasing unleashes an energy bullet if you have ammunition. A quick press of the Help key, or the Start button on a CD32 pad, will take you back to the menu.
