Bubble Bobble is a timeless 1986 arcade platformer by Taito, praised for its addictive co-op gameplay where dinosaur duo Bub and Bob blow bubbles to trap and pop colorful enemies across 100 single-screen levels.
Designed by Fukio “MTJ” Mitsuji, who joined Taito aiming to craft a fun, couple-friendly game with bubble mechanics to draw in female players amid male-dominated arcades.
Music by Tadashi Kimijima; evolved from Taito’s earlier Chack’n Pop (1983).
Bub and Bob, transformed into dragons by an evil curse, rescue girlfriends Debbi and Kimbi (human forms) from Baron von Blubba’s Cave of Monsters.
True ending (extend mode) reveals the curse; bad endings vary by solo/co-op play and time.
Aimed at couples with mandatory two-player co-op in arcades (solo shows ghosts of second player). Secret “Super League” mode unlocks via hidden code (30 magic items in one stage); Taito lost original source code in ’90s. Spawned massive franchise: sequels like Rainbow Islands, ports to 20+ platforms, and hacks like “Lost Cave” with 100 new levels on original hardware.

This is a clone of the original 1986 coin-op BubbleBobble.
I created this project to learn GML basics and i tryed to clone the original game identically to have a precise point of reference.
KEYS:
1 singleplayer (or join with green dragon when the game is in progress).
2 multiplayer (or join with blu dragon when the game is in progress).
F1 in the title screen, will be displayed commands list and some game info.
F2 in the title screen, to edit the controls of the little dragons.
Shift+F12 Reset to TitleScreen.

LOST CAVE
Fukio “MTJ” Mitsuji, the creator of Bubble Bobble, died five years ago, on December 11th 2008, at 48. We want to remember his genius with a new release of Bubble Bobble Lost Cave, exactly one year after the original release of our 100 level ROM hack.
What’s new:
– Program optimization. The game should have much less slowdowns now (ie it should slow down only where the original Bubble Bobble slows down!)
– Bootleg support. The game can now run also on most bootleg “Bobble Bobble” PCBs (or on emulated bootleg clones, should you want to do it). Forget the crappy bootleg behavior: Lost Cave works on bootleg boards just like on the originals.
– Difficulty rebalancing. The game has been carefully rebalanced, based on one year of user feedback. It *should* now be possible to complete it with one credit. Greater contributors are even acknowledged in the end credits of the “Super” Mode!

Bubble Bobble: Legacy – a fun arcade game where you controls a brave dinosaur Bub and you mission to fight against of the evil monsters, guiding them through the maze. Catch enemies in bubbles and blow them! In the game there are bonuses; candy, crystals, fruit, vegetables, jewelry. They need to collect in order to increase the number of score points. If both burst multiple enemies get more fruit as a bonus.
