An amazing game whom you will enjoy if you did not play it in past.
Mail Order Monsters is an action-strategy computer game created by Paul Reiche III, Evan Robinson, and Nicky Robinson, and published by Electronic Arts (Ariolasoft in Europe) for the Commodore 64 in 1985. The game allows players to create monsters which they can use to battle multiplayer or against computer-controlled opponents.
######Gameplay
Players begin the game as a new entrant into the exciting world of Mail Orders Monsters. As part of the starter kit, they are allowed to choose a free monster from 12 different beasts that include the man-eating tree Carnifern, the Wuzzle-esque Lyonbear, massive spiders and squids, and even a hominid for those that like to keep it in the species. Each monster has a starting set of stats, basic supplies, and a weapon. The players create a variety of monsters and equip them with futuristic and modern weapons, and then send them to fight against other monsters. The game encourages two-player sessions, and it is more rewarding to administer a smackdown to a friend’s monster.
Mail Order Monsters is a “very good game” that did not reach “true excellence” because of insufficient combat tactics, and suggested that it was best for younger players.
The game easily ranks in the top five games that the reviewer would love to see updated.
In a retrospective, Levi Buchanan of IGN said that although the game is dated, it is still a lot of fun to play.
