Cockroaches and other insects love to live and die inside PS4 consoles, according to a report by Kotaku.
The reason for this is that the PS4’s ventilation grates are wider than those of other consoles, making it easier for roaches to get inside.
Additionally, the PS4’s internal power supply generates more heat than that of the Xbox, creating a warm, enclosed space close to the floor that is perfect for roach nesting.
One of the most concerning aspects of this issue is that many PS4 owners may not even be aware that their console is infested with insects.
Often, the first indication of a problem is when the PS4 stops working, and the owner is left wondering why. In some cases, the bugs have made little homes inside the console, and their feces can melt onto the hardware, causing further damage.
Unfortunately, Sony will not take in insect-infested PS4s for repairs, as they consider it to be the owner’s responsibility to keep their console clean.
The problem is compounded by the fact that the PS4’s internal power supply can fry roaches onto its components, potentially ruining the console beyond repair.
In summary, the PS4’s wider ventilation grates and internal power supply make it an attractive nesting ground for cockroaches and other insects.
PS4 owners should take care to keep their consoles clean to avoid this issue.
