Feud Remake

Feud was an innovative 1987 computer game for the C64, MSX and ZX Spectrum home computers, among others. The player takes on the role of the sorcerer Learic, cursed with aging, and must fight his evil twin Leanoric before his time runs out.

In some countries it was distributed as Halloween.

Feud is an adventure game designed by John Pickford for Binary Design and was published in 1987 as the first game under the Bulldog Software label of Mastertronic. The game was released for various platforms including the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit family, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS, MSX, and ZX Spectrum

The story of Feud revolves around the feud between the two wizards, Learic and Leanoric. It is said that Leanoric turned his brother into a frog, which ultimately led to the eruption of a feud between them. The game begins with players taking on the role of Learic, who becomes the deadly enemy of Leanoric and must strive to destroy him before being destroyed himself

Learic and Leanoric are twins and powerful sorcerers who hated each other. One day, Leanoric cast an aging curse on Learic. As Learic, you have only one day in which to defeat Leanoric before dying. As Learic, the player must navigate through a large map, collecting ingredients to create spells and ultimately defeat Leanoric. The game’s map features various locations such as a graveyard, a hedged maze, a village, and a stream, providing a diverse and engaging environment for players to explore. Despite some technical issues in certain versions of the game, Feud was generally well-received for its original concept, addictive gameplay, and action-packed screens

The game gained notoriety due to its highly unconventional gameplay mechanics for the era.

The sole antagonist is Leanoric. To accomplish your goal, you must gather numerous herbs scattered throughout the world and concoct offensive and defensive spells by mixing them in your cauldron. You also possess a compass that points towards Leanoric’s current location. Several of the herbs can be found in a garden, tended by a gardener. Although slow-moving, the gardener is capable of inflicting damage upon Leanoric.

Leanoric, as an AI-controlled character, must perform the same actions – collecting herbs and brewing potions in his own cauldron before hunting you down to launch attacks.

The available spells range from fireballs and lightning bolts to invisibility and even the ability to transform peaceful villagers into zombies.
