In 1989, seven years after defeating the Master Control Program, Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), the innovative software engineer and the CEO of ENCOM International, disappears. Twenty years later, his son, Sam (Garrett Hedlund), who became ENCOM’s controlling shareholder after his father’s disappearance, takes little interest in the company besides an annual practical joke on the board of directors. Sam is visited by his father’s friend and ENCOM executive Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner), who urges Sam to investigate a mysterious page originating from Flynn’s old arcade, which was disconnected for twenty years. While exploring the shuttered arcade, Sam discovers a concealed computer laboratory and unintentionally transports himself to the Grid, a virtual world inside the computer.

Prequel :
Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) is a software engineer formerly employed by ENCOM. He wrote several video games, but another engineer, Ed Dillinger (David Warner) stole them and passed them off as his own, earning himself a series of promotions. Having left the company, Flynn attempts to obtain evidence of Dillinger’s actions by hacking the ENCOM mainframe, but is repeatedly stopped by the Master Control Program (MCP), an artificial intelligence written by Dillinger. When the MCP reveals its plan to take control of outside mainframes including the Pentagon and Kremlin, Dillinger attempts to stop it, only to have the MCP threaten to expose his plagiarism of Flynn’s hugely successful games.

MEGATRON

Megatron for the C64 has been released today by Technische Maschinenfabrik, featuring a bike battle TRON type of game with some nice updates to the style, like the ability to speed up your bike, and also the option to battle against the computer or another player.

Simultaneous to the game release, The great ‘Genesis Project’ has released a new C64 Crack for Megatron. The crack includes an amazing intro (Asteroids Intro) and nice trainers for the game.

The group also translated the documentation to English, which is a nice feature for a bigger audience!

GLTRON

>You will have to guide a futuristic bike around a rectangular racetrack at ridiculous speeds. Your bike, also known as a light cycle, leaves a trail behind it as you speed through the track. This trail acts as a barrier, and your ultimate goal is to force your opponents into this barrier and be the last one standing. Your ultimate survival depends on you winning the race.

The graphics are beautifully rendered using OpenGL and the music and sound add to the over all frantic atmosphere of the game. If you can handle this fast paced action racer then hit the download button.
