Amiga’s Wonderboy

This was like a MiA project, missing in action, Wonderboy for Commodore Amiga, but now someone is trying to repair this wrong past…

Wonder Boy is a classic arcade game that has been ported to various platforms like Commodore64, now including the Commodore Amiga.
Wonder Boy (1986 arcade coin-op by Escape/Sega) delivers tight, addictive platforming as a caveman hero races through 32 rounds across 8 colorful worlds to save his girlfriend from an evil king.

Run, jump, and hurl stone hatchets at foes like wasps and totempoles while grabbing fruit to refill a draining health meter—mistakes kill fast, demanding precise timing and route mastery. Power-ups like the skateboard for speed bursts or angels for invincibility add frantic highs, with escalating enemy waves and bouncy platform gaps testing reflexes.
Catchy chiptune loops (an earworm rivaling Pac-Land) pair with vibrant sprites and varied biomes from forests to ice caves, though linearity and punishing spikes frustrate casual plays. A cornerstone of ’80s arcades, it spawned the series (including Adventure Island ports) and shines in collections for its breathless momentum.
